Gift Ideas (Especially for Guys)
There's some debate about whether we should give gifts to each other at Christmas as adults. Obviously, to a kid, this is a huge part of the fun of Christmas. And while most of the adults we buy gifts for could buy it on their own, I do enjoy the thoughtfulness of finding something that will bring a bit of joy to the people who are important to you.
With that in mind, I thought I'd offer my first-ever gift idea list. Some of these are tailored more for the guys, but a few could work for multiple people. I personally use each of these and have found lasting value in.
Here is my list of increasing dollar amounts, and all of them are available on Amazon.
- Sensory toy $9: https://amzn.to/3BjhvH9
I'm a big fan of stress balls. I have difficulty engaging in long conversations where I must sit still and not do anything. If you're anything like me (or shopping for someone who is), you know the value of a good fidget toy. After trying dozens of different ones, I'm a bit obsessed with this one. This would be a killer stocking stuffer.
- Workout shaker bottle $15: https://amzn.to/3CT4wN5
For anyone who works out, supplements are often key afterward. Mixing those can sometimes be challenging, especially if you have thick protein powder. This bottle solves two problems: With the push of a button, your shake is blended. Not only does this save you from having to shake the bottle yourself, but it also mixes it better than the traditional way.
- Wine tops $19: https://amzn.to/3ZhGYsG
If you follow me you likely know I drink a fair bit of wine. These wine tops are the perfect way to get a good pour, strain out any pieces of cork, and cap it when you're done. I originally discovered these when I noticed numerous wineries using them. I have these all over my house and in both of our rental homes too.
- Quick dry outdoor pants $29: https://amzn.to/4eXDGR9
I don't usually order my clothes from Amazon, but I bought a pair of these for travel last year and I ended up loving them. They offer cargo pockets without feeling bulky. They also repel stains and most liquids. A bonus (for me) is that my wife really likes the way they look on me. So I bought them in multiple colors and I wear them often.
- EDC knife $39: https://amzn.to/4eZ6rwA
I carry this knife on me every day. This isn't for protection; it's to open boxes and for other practical purposes. I've collected a few high-end pocket knives over the years, but this is the one I carry daily. It's got a simple yet perfectly functional design. I once had to throw it away at the airport when I forgot it was in my pocket and I was glad I didn't have to worry about an expensive knife. I immediately bought a replacement.
- Cigar Cutter $61: https://amzn.to/41sQNGL
If you're buying for someone who enjoys cigars, this quad cutter is the real deal. Most guys use a cheap cutter that gets the job done. This will get the job done in style. It makes a perfect cut each time, regardless of the size or shape of the cigar. It's like a guillotine for your stogies.
- EDC pen $95: https://amzn.to/3Zl9OrU
I'm convinced that the Pilot G2 is a near-perfect pen. This is essentially a metal version to keep on you daily that uses Pilot G2 ink. It has a great weight to it in your hand and the twist top for the cap makes sense. Most pens that are designed to be portable don't feel nice to write with but this one does. As with my knife, I'm amazed at how often I have used this when it is easily accessible.
- Magsafe Wallet $118: https://amzn.to/3DfYTbR
I replaced my traditional leather wallet with this metal one from Fantom. It's such a slim way to manage your cards and this one even magnetically attaches to the back of my iPhone case. It's a nice way to feel more organized and to carry less bulky items on you. Whether you want to use it attached to your phone or carry it separately, this one gives you options.
- Coravin Pivot Wine System $179: https://amzn.to/4gntOkY
If you want to wow a wine lover in your life, this system allows you to open a bottle of wine and only enjoy some of it at a time. Instead of the rest of the bottle quickly going bad, this will allow you to enjoy it for a few weeks. I have tried various tools for this purpose and this one is by far my favorite and most used.
So that's a short list. Hopefully, this makes your Christmas shopping a bit easier!
