The Simplicity of Christianity
I taught a message this past weekend called "The Simplicity of Christianity." I was asked to begin a series on the book of Galatians. In that book, the Apostle Paul is trying to win back Christians who had been told they had to do things like circumcision in order to carry out their faith.
Basically, the Gospel they thought was simple turned out to be pretty complicated after they listened to other Christians tell them all the 'other' stuff they needed to do.
Sound familiar?
I'd go so far as to say that one of the most scandalous parts of Christianity is how simple it really is. So simple in fact that we constantly feel the need to add to it. I used an illustration in this message with a few props that offers a tangible way of understanding how we find our life in Jesus. Hopefully, it can give you another way of imagining the invitation of Jesus for your life.
If Christianity has become complicated to you, here's a reminder of how simple it can be.
