Queer and Christian (and a Bonus Video)
Today I posted my latest episode for Cabernet and Pray. It's a conversation with Brandan Robertson about being queer and Christian. Brandan is about to release a book that unpacks these ideas and as I read an early copy of it, I was absolutely blown away by the depth of his arguments and the way he invites you to see things in the Bible you've likely never noticed before.
As I tell him in the episode, it's easily the best book I've read in the last five years (and I read a lot).
You can click here to find the episode or watch the video above.
In addition, there were three quotes from the book that are beyond profound but which might be too much for the typical Christian to process. These quotes involve reimaginging a Christian sexual ethic for all people (one that I think is WAY better than purity culture).
Rather than post all the questions together, I made a separate video for our conversation around these ideas, which is nearly half an hour by itself. Watching that conversation requires a willingness to process new ideas and challenge opinions you've likely had for a long time... It's not for the faint of heart!
I'm not posting it as part of the main video, as I'm not interested in the random social media trolls that would be sure to follow. As a result, I will only be posting that video in our online community. If you're interested in seeing how deep the rabbit hole goes, join us there for a discussion that might change how you think about sexuality and faith in general. It has for me.
